Trainer Desleigh Forster is hoping Easy Running can turn the stable’s fortunes around in the Group Three Gold Coast Guineas on Saturday.

The Forster-trained Adebisi sent a scare through the stable when the star sprinter compounded to finish a long last behind Buffering in the weight-for-age Coca-Cola Amatil Handicap at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.

Adebisi was vetted and cleared of any injuries and was as bright as ever at trackwork at Eagle Farm on Thursday morning.

“I had my vet look at him today and he’s fine and he ate up straight after the race,” Forster said.

“Kelly Schweida told me fast bowlers can’t bat. In other words, fast horses like him have trouble gripping on wet tracks.

“I’ll have him scoped next week after he gallops but he’s right to run in the BTC Cup on Saturday week at this stage.”

Forster believes Easy Running has a great chance to atone for Adebisi in the Gold Coast Guineas (1200m) and isn’t concerned by a wet track for him.

“He’s bombproof and can run on wet or dry tracks,” Forster said.

Easy Running overcame difficulties in the straight to score a stunning first-up victory in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate (1000m) at Eagle Farm on April 21.

“It was a super run from him last time. He got held up for a run and it was only his class that got him there,” Forster said.

“He’s progressed well since the win and with his good barrier he should be hard to beat.”

Easy Running, a Damian Browne mount, has drawn barrier three and is a proven performer on slow tracks and has been placed on a heavy track.

Forster expects Easy Running to box seat from his perfect draw and rates fellow Queenslander Morning Captain as the gelding’s main danger.

Morning Captain is in brilliant form after stretching his winning sequence to four with his last start victory in the Listed Queensland Day (1350m) at Doomben on April 14.

Easy Running will have his next start in the Group Three Fred Best Classic (1350m) at Doomben on May 19 before his main mission in the Group Two Queensland Guineas (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 2.
