The first of the Group 1 races on Saturday is the 2010 Coolmore Stud Stakes over 1200m, Star Witness has opened as the favourite at $3.70 ahead of Queenslander Pressday who is currently $5. The third line of betting consists of Buffering, Soul and Solar Charged all of which are at $7. It looks to be a very competitive race with mutliple horses with good winning chances.
Top Selection:
Star Witness i thought worked very well on Tuesday at Flemington when having a jump out with Hay List, his last run in the Schillaci wasn’t bad when finishing 4th to Black Caviar he didn’t have much room in running and had plenty of excuses. Should be fitter for the run and is definitely the one to beat in the race.

Second Selection:
Solar Charged won very well last start at Caulfield on a track that was leader biased which suited as she will jump and lead, even though it was a leaders track i thought it was a very good run and the Sydney 3YO form has held up very well. Will be close to the speed and should give a good kick and is currently at great each way odds.
Third Selection:
Sistine Angel has a decent record over the 1200m and has beaten home some very good horses including Brazilian Pulse who will go into the Oaks as one of the favourites, has to contend with a bad barrier but in form Craig Williams should be able to give her a decent ride during transit. Currently at $12 which i feel is good odds.
Best Roughie:
General Truce i thought was one of the runs of the race in the Schillaci in which a few of the favoured runners are coming out of, he hit the line well and at $21 i feel provides great value. Very good each way chance.
