Sportingbet Australia has posted a head to head market for Spring’s Patinack Farm Classic pitting Australia’s star, Black Caviar against Singapore champion, Rocket Man.
Black Caviar has been posted as a $1.55 favourite with Rocket Man a distinct outsider at $2.45 despite showing similar dominance to the undefeated mare in his win in the Group 1 KrisFlyer Sprint in Singapore on Sunday.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said Black Caviar’s undefeated record would guarantee punters would continue to put the big money on her.
“There is no doubt Rocket Man is a very very good horse but I think she is in a league all of her own,†Sullivan said.
“Punters will be excited by the odds on offer for Black Caviar as they are significantly longer than anything we have seen recently.
“I am sure all those punters who have filled their pockets will come for her again even against Rocket Man.â€
Sullivan said the form around Black Caviar looked a lot stronger than the races Rocket Man had been contesting.
“Her rating is so high due to the quality of fields she has beaten including the likes of Hay List,†he said.
“Rocket Man may have won with similar ease in Singapore but really he beat a field of ageing sprinters and I don’t think that form is anywhere near as strong.â€
