Glamour mare More Joyous has been set as favourite in TAB Sportsbet’s opening market for the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m).

The Gai-Waterhouse trained mare, who has won 10 of her 14 starts, has opened at $7.

She is unbeaten at Randwick from 3 starts and is also yet to taste defeat at 1600m.

The Mark Kavanagh-trained Whobegotyou is the only other runner under double figures, opening as a $9 second favourite.

Whobegotyou is arguably a miler, having only been beaten once at 1600m.

That was in the 2009 Doncaster, where he finished a very unlucky 3rd behind Vision and Power.

Three horses are on the third line of betting – world champion sprinter Black Caviar, who is highly unlikely to tackle the race; last year’s winner Rangirangdoo; and last year’s favourite Typhoon Tracy.

The highest rated three year old is Kiwi filly We Can Say It Now, who at her last start won the Group 1 Captain Cook Stakes (1600m) at weight for age by four lengths.

She is on the fifth line of betting at $21.

The time-honoured Doncaster Mile received 222 nominations when entries closed on Tuesday.
