Moonee Valley race meetings scheduled for later this month have been transferred to other city tracks.
The Moonee Valley track was renovated after the end of the night racing season in March and, in order to allow it to consolidate, Saturday meetings on June 16 and June 30 have been moved to Flemington and Caulfield respectively.
“We have decided to take a cautious approach with the Moonee Valley track given its importance to the industry during the warmer months as our premier night racing venue,” Racing Victoria’s chief operating officer Bernard Saundry said.
Last Wednesday’s Moonee Valley meeting was also transferred to Flemington.
Moonee Valley does not have any meetings programmed in July.
Saundry said the Moonee Valley renovation was the most rigorous since the StrathAyr track was first laid in 1995.
Full reciprocal arrangements will be in place for all members of the Moonee Valley, Victoria Racing Club, Melbourne Racing Club and country racing clubs for both transferred meetings.
