The newest member of the Helsinge dynasty made her first public appearance on Thursday ahead of her much-anticipated auction at the Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney.

The Redoute’s Choice half-sister to champion mare Black Caviar, three-time winner Moshe and emerging star All Too Hard, was paraded at the William Inglis complex along with triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva’s half-brother by Street Cry.

The docile dark brown colt was somewhat overshadowed by the tall rangy filly, bred by Rick Jamieson’s Gilgai Farm.

Black Caviar’s trainer Peter Moody, who was the underbidder on 2011 sale topper All Too Hard, was on hand to give his views of the pair.

Moody paid $210,000 for Black Caviar in 2008 while John Hawkes went to $1.025 million for All Too Hard on behalf of Nathan Tinkler.

“She is not as robust as Black Caviar was as a yearling but she has a lot more leg under her,” Moody said.

“She has a great action like her brother.

“It was her first time away from the farm and although it was all new to her, I’ve seen her in the paddock and she’s very laid-back.”

Moody said he had not yet committed to bidding on the filly.

The trainer was also impressed by the colt out of Tugela which is being offered by Makybe Diva’s owner Tony Santic.

“He is a smashing horse, perhaps the nicest of the brothers and sisters to Makybe Diva I’ve seen,” he said.

“But I’m not sure I’ll be bidding. I haven’t had a lot of success with the Street Crys.”

Darley stallion Street Cry is the sire of 2009 Melbourne Cup winner Shocking and champion American mare Zenyatta.

The three-day sale, which begins on Tuesday, will be without So You Think’s brother who was diagnosed earlier this week as a suspected wobbler.
