Magic Millions credit control manager Rebecca Watty will have more than a passing interest when a cheekily named filly makes her race debut in the Dash For Cash Handicap at Sandown.

Trainer Rick Hore-Lacy said that Bec Said No Credit got her name as a result of Watty’s declaration that immediate payment was needed when Darren Dean bought the filly at last year’s Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling sale for $50,000.

“Darren bought the horse and when he when got to the office Rebecca’s instructions were to give no credit,” Hore-Lacy said.

Hore-Lacy, who has been a long-time fan of the Magic Millions and bought three yearlings there earlier this month, rang Watty last week to let her know that Bec Said No Credit was having her first start in the 900m race on Wednesday.

Watty said she had been kept up to date on the progress of Bec Said No Credit since she was named and looking forward to have a bet on her at Sandown.

“I love it,” said Watty referring to the naming of Bec Said No Credit.

“I am most excited about the whole thing.

“I don’t put money on any horse, ever, but I will be putting money on this one.

“The moment they named it they let me know. I have been getting updates where she has been and what’s she is up to and what she looks like.”

Many of the filly’s owners who are in New Zealand at the Karaka yearling sales have also contacted Watty about the impending race debut.

“I have had numerous text messages and phone calls from New Zealand where all the boys are at the moment for the sales,” Watty said.

Bec Said No Credit is by Flying Spur and is a daughter of the Encosta De Lago mare Fairessa who won three races and was stakes-placed four times.

Hore-Lacy said Bec Said No Credit was promising but would most likely be spelled after Wednesday to give her more time mature.

“She is still pretty green but I wanted to give her a run before I turn her out,” Hore-Lacy said.

“She’s a nice filly with plenty of ability.

“She will probably need the run but she might get into a place.

“She won’t disgrace herself.”

For the record Dean didn’t get credit from Watty but she admits that it might be a different story next time if Bec Said No Credit wins.

“Hopefully we win and if she gets to Group One I will fly to wherever the race is,” Watty said.
