Favourite Ortensia has drawn ideally in barrier two for her Group One mission in Saturday’s Winterbottom Stakes at Ascot.
Ortensia was victorious in the 1200m race two years ago when it was a Group Two event.
Darley trainer Peter Snowden’s hopeful Rarefied also fared well with gate seven in the field of 14 while Grand Nirvana, among the best of the local hopes, drew 10.
Fellow locals All Friared Up and Kid Choisir are also being kept safe in betting but both will have to overcome wide alleys in 12 and 13 respectively.
Ortensia was the clear cut $2.30 favourite with TAB Sportsbet on Wednesday ahead of Rarefied at $6.
