Leading jockey Glyn Schofield has appealed one of two riding bans from Saturday’s Rosehill meeting.
“Glyn has appealed his suspension for his ride on Kerchings,” his agent Mark Van Triet said.
Kerchings lost third placing on protest and Schofield was suspended for eight meetings for careless riding.
The impassioned jockey mounted a lengthy defence on race day to no avail.
Schofield was also suspended for his ride on Sikka, earning a two-meeting ban which he won’t appeal.
He will have a full book of rides at Randwick on Saturday, including See The World and Hot Fox, last-start winners for Joe Pride.
Schofield will take over on both horses from Christian Reith, one of many Sydney jockeys who will not be riding on Saturday because of end-of-season holidays or suspension.
