December Draw remains a steady $2.40 favourite for Saturday’s Caulfield Cup after faring well in his morning’s barrier draw, while one punter has backed bolter Macedonian to win over $150,000.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said the barrier draw had only seen some minor tinkering of the odds.
“There’s only been some minor changes with the two favourites December Draw and Lucas Cranach faring well,” said Sullivan.
“The main casualty appears to be the mare Absolutely which has drawn the outside barrier and drifted from $10 to $13 as a result with Green Moon drifting from $13 to $14 after also drawing wide.
“Mighty High has firmed from $13 to $11 after drawing barrier one and we also expect to see some support for Saptapadi, which has been tightened from $26 to $21 after drawing barrier six and Southern Speed which is $21 into $17 after gaining barrier four.
“Macedonian has also firmed from $151 to $81 after drawing barrier ten with one punter backing him to win over $150,000 shortly before the draw took place.”
December Draw remains Sportingbet Australia’s worst result after opening at $15 when betting commenced in early August.
