Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan is predicting Black Caviar to be the biggest hold on a single horse this year as a string of huge bets rolled in for the superstar filly in Saturday’s Lightning Stakes.
Black Caviar has already been backed from $1.45 to $1.42 and Sullivan is predicting she could get even shorter by jump time.
“We have already taken bets of $100,000, $40,000 and $15,000 and I don’t think we have seen the biggest bets yet,†Sullivan said.
“I think this could be a record hold as everyone just wants to be on her this weekend, the punters think she in unbeatable.
“I think we will hold more on her than we did on So You Think in the Cox Plate last year which was an enormous betting race.â€
Hay List is on the second line of betting with Sportingbet at $5.00 ahead of Crystal Lily at $13 and King Pulse at $14 and Sullivan said he thought they were all genuine dangers to Black Caviar.
