Doomben 10,000 favourite I Wish I Win has arrived in Queensland in peak condition, ramping up his tilt at glory.
The Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman-trained gelding impressed in his first run this year, a close third in the T J Smith Stakes.
“He’s taken fantastic improvement from his first-up run,” Coleman declared.
“We were very happy with it. He’s come through it nicely, he’s in really good order.”
I Wish I Win rockets into the Doomben 10,000 as the red-hot $2.50 favourite with Ladbrokes.
His stablemate Chain Of Lightning also made the trip north, but her racing future remains undecided. Up for grabs at the Magic Millions sale later this month, a potential Royal Ascot swansong beckons.
“She’ll go through the sale there and we’ll see who purchases her and what their decisions are after that,” Coleman said.
“But Pete’s already been there, done that, so I think it’s only fair,” she joked, hinting at her own desire to experience the prestigious meet.
Chain Of Lightning has plenty of punters interested in a potential Royal Ascot raid, with online bookmakers offering $8.50 odds for the King Charles III Stakes and $7.50 in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes.
