Eight races will be run and won at Sandown Lakeside on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

1 Galilaeus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems hard to beat. He was comfortably held by Highland Blaze at The Valley last time but I think the winner had full momentum, got going early and stole a winning march, whereas Galilaeus just whacked late in the piece. Maps to settle on speed, the first two/three at worst, B Shinn on…keen.

2 Highland Blaze (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won that race mentioned above at The Valley in dominant fashion by over seven lengths before going here when on speed and was hailed as the winner when he kicked clear but was nabbed on the line by stablemate Make Us Proud. Hard to knock the way he’s racing.

6 Cool King (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a last start maiden winner but has upside/scope. That win came over 2400m at Geelong where he was ridden with intent and lapped it up, winning by a space and had something in hand. Harder here, but think he can measure up.

3 Acelum (Bet Now:  $SP.00) takes beating here for Moroney/Thompson. He debuted over 1400m at Pakenham when near the speed and presented to win when asked for the effort but just found one better in Jenni Intiba. Better for the run under the belt, maps ideally and strikes a winnable race.

6 Hot Too Go (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy three year old that resumes for Danny O’Brien. He was heading towards the Derby and did get there, but looked a tired horse, sitting on speed and finished down the track. Gelded, trial and jumpout work has been quite good and gets B Shinn. Market watch.

1 Highlands (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver. First run for the stable came over 1200m here when on speed and seemed to move well but when asked for the effort, gee he was weak late behind Sirena in a plain return. Had jumped out super prior so he deserves another look.

3 Nostringsattached (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the most likely for Busuttin/Young. He resumed over 1200m in a Pakenham maiden where he got back in the run but a 12/10 ride from Shinn, getting the splits between runners and dashed clear late to win and win well. The rise to 1400m is fine and looks the one on the up.

1 Politely Dun (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Dundeel that Danny O’Brien that resumes. This guy hasn’t raced since the Victoria Derby where he was back near last in the run and couldn’t quite get involved when down the track behind Goldrush Guru. He’ll spot them a start but has class.

5 Primo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1200m here. He got back off the speed and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was a definite pass mark in defeat behind Pop Award. Fitter and up in trip, he can win without surprising.

9 Fontaine Rouge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it. That win was a maiden triumph at Geelong when on speed and was absolutely trucking before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. The rise to 1600m is fine and with a good racing style, she appeals.

3 Awesome Lineup (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency for Joseph Waldron and commands respect. His recent runs have come at Cranbourne, winning two back before a close up second over the mile when beaten narrowly by Think Winning. Good racing style and the depth isn’t overly deep.

6 Electric Belle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in with a shout for Reece Goodwin off the back of a placing over the mile on Colac Cup Day. She got back off the speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Crafty Boss. Maps to do no work in the run and gets D Lane aboard.

1 Dollar Chaser (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat off the back of a close up effort here fresh behind Mighty, getting off speed and worked home well enough to finish just over a length away. Back to 64 grade, hard to beat if he can use the inside gate to advantage.

10 Santasia (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is finding it hard to win but she has been around the mark for Team McEvoy. Latest run was at Werribee when ridden cold, with a sit, and worked home strongly when second to Exuma, beaten a lip in a driving go. If she can use the inside gate to advantage, she takes beating.

6 Famoso (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Invader that resumes for Mick Kent. He is first up, having not raced since July 17 here when struggling on wet ground behind the promising Boltsaver. Extensive trial work to get ready and D Lane booked fresh signals intent, so watch the market.

7 Light Foot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very, very interesting runner. Pat Widdup trains this filly, who debuted at Albury on July 8 when leading them a merry dance and gave nothing else a look in to win and win impressively. Looks to have trialled up very well and with front end control, she’ll take running down.

6 Exuberance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Mark Walker trained filly that resumes. She showed good promise in the Spring to start her career, with the end of prep run coming in the Thousand Guineas Prelude. Given a good break and her jumpout work has been quite strong, so I say watch the market and see what it does.

11 Ania (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gets to a bigger track after racing over this trip at The Valley when off speed and held up at times. Wouldn’t have won, but should have finished closer behind Nepravda. If she can use the inside gate to advantage, she’s a threat at odds.

The Begg stable is humming and 5 Zloties (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready to resume a winner. She showed really good promise in the Spring but last start at Randwick in the Angst, she was keen and just tired late. Given a break, her jumpout work has been strong…think she has a bit on these.

6 Pop Award (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one that is up and running. 2/2 this time in, breaking the maiden impressively at Geelong before repeating the dose here three weeks ago when landing on speed and found under pressure to win. Race fitness, racing style, she’s a key threat.

1 Roadie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an Andrew Noblet trained gelding that resumes. This mare was last seen on Aug 10 at The Valley when racing over the mile and just never really got involved behind Waimare. Trial/jumpout work has been pretty good and maps to do no work.

6 Charisse (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will do me in the get out. This mare resumed over 1200m here where she got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, I really liked the way she closed off in defeat behind Written Bligh. Fitter and up in trip, if she can settle closer in the run, she takes beating at odds.

11 Nodachi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look. First run for Dom Sutton came over 1200m here when wide no cover on speed and that early burn just told on her late in the piece when down the track behind Intrepid Eagle. Better run in transit, she can threaten.

8 Aiming (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look. She resumed over this track/distance where she got back in a race dominated on speed and although she made up ground, she was never really a winning factor. More positive ride, she can win without surprising.

NEXT BEST: Race One Number 1 Galilaeus

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 6 Charisse
