Trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young will debut their well-regarded colt Prince Tycoon at Caulfield this Saturday in the opening race on the card, the Next Payments Handicap (1100m).
The son of Written Tycoon has shown good early signs, claiming victory in both of his jumpouts leading into the race. Bookmakers have taken notice, marking him a $2.80 favourite in early markets. However, co-trainer Trent Busuttin has been quick to temper expectations.
โHeโs sharp, heโs had two jumpouts,โ Busuttin said.
โHeโs certainly got ability, no question, but heโs a long way from the finished article. Itโs always hard to win a Saturday metropolitan race at your first start.
โI see heโs come up pretty short in the market, I hope theyโre right and heโs got the ability to be hard to beat but theyโre never easy to win first-up.
โIโll go in looking forward to it but not with the massive amount of confidence the market seems to have.โ
