Multiple Group One winner Redzel has had a set back on his quest for back to back Everest wins after being scratched from today’s Group Two The Shorts at Randwick.
Trainer Peter Snowden has reported the star sprinter has shown to have muscle soreness this morning and no risks will be taken with the horse.
Redzel remains the favourite for The 2018 Everest at $5 in TAB markets.
Trainer P Snowden has reported to Stewards that Redzel (Race 4 No 1) is to be withdrawn from The Shorts today at Randwick after being found to have muscle soreness. Mr Snowden has advised the gelding will be subject to a full veterinary examination.
