Golden Mile to return to racing

Golden Mile, the 2022 Caulfield Guineas winner, is set to make a surprise return to racing under James Cummings after initially being retired earlier this year.

Darley Australia confirmed the five-year-old, now gelded, will resume training.

β€œGolden Mile will return to training as a gelding with Godolphin under Head Trainer James Cummings” Darley announced on Monday.

The son of Astern and Gimcrack Stakes-winning mare Calaverite boasts an impressive career, with five wins and $4.35 million in earnings from 20 starts.

His highlight came in the Caulfield Guineas, where he achieved a Timeform rating of 114 after defeating Elliptical.

Golden Mile was initially retired sound after a third-place finish in the Group 2 Victory Stakes at Eagle Farm and was set to stand at stud for $16,500 per service.
