A near capacity field has been assembled for the Northam Cup (1600m) this Sunday, a lead up towards the Ascot Carnival.

2025 Northam Cup Runner Preview:
1. Currimundi: Game effort in the Kalgoorlie Cup but suspect he is getting ready for the Perth Cup. Not for me here.
2. Sensessional: Could have bumped into a star in Cosmic Crusader last time, so the form reads super and has a kind map to get a suck run. One of the leading contenders.
3. Bruce Almighty: Very hit and miss this guy. If he’s on, he can win. If not, he runs close to last. Hard horse to read but is a first up winner and will be out of trouble on speed.
4. Captain Pluto: On a path towards the Perth Cup. Loved his finale behind Bruce Almighty after getting too far back. If he can get a drag into the race, he can win.
5. Multinational: Surprise winner of the Hannans when leading throughout and was there to be beaten but he found under pressure. Good racing style…just think he lacks the class.
6. Playhouse Patron: Plain return behind Bruce Almighty and cannot entertain him here.
7. Fear The Wind: He’s my each way speck. Did more than enough first up I thought behind Bruce Almighty and he will appreciate a genuine tempo, especially from the inside gate. IMO, he only runs well.
8. Iowa: Has eyes on the Perth Cup. I don’t think he’s here to play.
9. Prophet And Power: Got the A1 run in transit to win at Ascot last time and does have the 1600m run under the belt. Gate is tricky but hard to knock the way it has returned.
10. Red Sun Sensation: Good return behind Bruce Almighty but just not sure he has as much improvement compared to others from that race that are running here.
11. Secret Attraction: Thought he had his chance in the Hannans and the fact Multinational kicked and won tells me that form is very, very suspect.
12. Upper Limits: Terrible behind Bruce Almighty and cannot entertain.
