Nine races have been set down for Happy Valley this Wednesday night with good depth across the program.

Race 1. (20:40) Mount Butler Handicap (Class 5) 2200m
9 Mr Aladdin (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate getting to 2200m and in a thin race, is the way I am going. He ran over 1800m here three weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground from the wide gate and was good to the line but just couldn’t sustain the run. Like him up in trip, maps much better and gets Zac Purton aboard.
10 Golden Fairy (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since April 6 over 2000m at Sha Tin when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when third to Chateau Le Peche. Good track/distance record and with front end control, appeals.
2 Go Go Go (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1800m here three weeks back when on speed throughout and he tried hard but being first up, condition just gave way late in the piece. Better for the run, good track/distance record, he’s in the mix.
Race 2. (21:10) Mount Nicholson Handicap (Class 4) 1800m
11 S J Tourbillon (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago where he tried to make a sustained run from the back and was game in defeat but just couldn’t quite get there behind Oriental Smoke. Can settle closer in the run, be effective late and strikes a winnable race.
12 Kasa Papa (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran third in the Oriental Smoke race mentioned above. He did early work from the wide gate to land in a decent spot near the speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. That said, he was close up and game in defeat. Gate is tricky again but hard to knock the way he’s racing.
3 Can’t Go Wong (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1800m after racing over 2200m here on May 7. He did work to land ln speed and that early burn just told on him late in the piece when down the track behind Perfect Pairing. Like him back in trip and with a better run in transit, he’s an improver.
Race 3. (21:40) Wong Nai Chung Gap Handicap (Class 4) 1200m
10 Good Prospect (Bet Now: $SP.00) each way for me in an open contest. He ran over this track/distance on May 7 when back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was a definite pass mark in defeat. If he can use the inside gate, can settle closer, he’ll take beating.
11 Vulcanus (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He wasn’t able to use the inside gate to advantage and got back off speed but kept chasing with purpose and was pretty good in defeat I thought when second to Hayday. If he can settle closer, be within range, he’ll take holding out.
4 Mega Bonus (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes through a track/distance race from three weeks back where he attempted to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but just felt the pinch late in the piece when fifth. If he gets some form of front end control, he’s dangerous.
Race 4. (22:10) Shouson Hill Handicap (Class 4) 1650m
6 Wrote A New Page (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. Danny Shum trained gelding that ran over the mile at Sha Tin just under two weeks ago. He tracked the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Mister Dapper. Depth here not as deep, he appeals.
1 Midori Fuji (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for David Eustace. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago when dragged back from the wide gate and tried to make a sustained run, looming to win, but just found one better in Sure Joyful. Purton back on, he rates highly.
9 Capital Legend (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m at Sha Tin last time where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he closed off and was pretty good in defeat behind World Hero. Like him back up in trip, he’s a knockout hope.
Race 5. (22:40) The Cricket Club Valley Handicap (Class 4) 1200m
2 Bienvenue (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it for David Hayes. That win came over this track/distance three weeks ago when on speed throughout and trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Maps ideally, in winning form, rates highly.
3 Bowser (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He hasn’t raced since April 9 over thisn track/dustance when using gate one to advantage, settling just off the speed, and she tried hard, but just couldn’t quite see it through when a close up third to Stellar Swift. Tick over trial was good, just needs to overcome the gate.
1 Denfield (Bet Now: $SP.00) is two weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got dragged back from the wide gate and just couldn’t get involved when down the track behind Harmony N Blessed. Back to Class 4 company, he’s an improver.
Race 6. (23:10) Stanley Gap Handicap (Class 3) 1200m
4 Giant Leap (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in a purple patch and see no reason to drop off. He has won two on the bounce, both coming at this track/distance where each time he has been on speed and found under pressure to fend them off and score. Loves the track/distance, good racing style, he appeals.
5 Storm Rider (Bet Now: $SP.00) is bursting to win. He ran over this track/distance a fortnight back when off speed and he tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Crimson Flash. Maps perfect, racing well and should be around the mark.
1 Superb Capitalist (Bet Now: $SP.00) is two weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a good sight from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Dragon Four Seas. He’ll charge over from the wide gate and run a positive race.
Race 7. (23:45) Tai Tam Gap Handicap (Class 3) 1800m
9 Joy Of Spring (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an each way ticket. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat I thought behind Cambridge. Maps to settle within range and be strong late. He’ll do me each way.
7 Casa Rochester (Bet Now: $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when getting off the pace and kept finding the line without threatening behind Keefy. Purton jumps on and if he can settle closer, he’ll be dangerous.
4 Star Mac (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after racing over the mile at Sha Tin just over two weeks back where he got too far out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was a definite pass mark. Good track/distance record, he’s in the mix.
Race 8. (00:15) Violet Hill Handicap (Class 3) 1650m
3 Another World (Bet Now: $SP.00) has his first look at Happy Valley but if he handles it, I think he wins. He ran several weeks ago over 1400m at Sha Tin where he got off speed but I really liked the way he closed his race off in defeat behind Light Years Charm, who does look Stakes class. 1600m should be fine, Purton on, keen on his chances.
8 Harmony Galaxy (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in a pruple patch for Danny Shum and rates highly. He has won two on the bounce, both coming over 1800m. Coming back to the mile I find interesting but he should be strong late and hard to knock the way he’s racing.
2 Sky Trust (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a key threat. He ran over this track/distance two weeks back where he got back from the wide gate but he was a real eye catcher late, working home with purpose behind Embraces. If he can use the inside gate to advantage, he’s dangerous.
Race 9. (00:50) Wan Chai Gap Handicap (Class 2) 1200m
8 Mid Winder Wind (Bet Now: $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps in the get out. He is a tick over two weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Sha Tin when off speed and seemed to have his chance but was outclassed on the line behind Packing Hermod. First look at Happy Valley but the form around him does read quite well.
2 Glory Elite (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after a win over 1000m here a few weeks ago where he led throughout and credit to him, he found under pressure to fend them off and score. If the rise to 1200m is fine, then he’s one of the leading contenders.
6 Wonder Kit (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes through the Glory Elite race mentioned above. He got off speed and while he was never a winning threat, he kept chasing but was solid late in the piece. Lke him back up in trip and he can certainly win.
