Eight races have been set down for Belmont on Saturday for Belmont Classic Day. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out four metres for the entire circuit.

Belmont Classic 🏆: View the Field and Odds for the Belmont Classic

1 King Of Light (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice horse on the up for Dan Morton and confident he can make it 2/2 after debuting three weeks ago at Pinjarra, giving them a start and a beating in a sharp display. Like him up to 1400m, Pike sticks and he could be a horse that could feature later in the year during the Carnival.

2 Beau’s A Lad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after a maiden win over 1200m at Pinjarra, getting better as the race went on to win well. Good test here against likely types, but think he can measure up against these, especially with the rise in trip.

4 Radiant Light (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since debuting over 1200m at Pinjarra. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there but the run was still full of merit. Like him up in trip and has good upside to come.

10 Supernatural (Bet Now:  $SP.00) takes on the older horses but she looks a filly of some promise. She was a dominant winner at Bunbury two weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating, letting down with real purpose late to score and score well. Confident she measures up.

2 Hell I Am (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m a fortnight back at Bunbury when off speed and spotted those in front a decent start but didn’t mind his finale in defeat behind Wubin Gold when fourth. Like him up in trip. Just needs to settle closer in the run.

6 Above The Peg (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Michael Lane trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since April 19 at Ascot when down the track behind Blazing Emerald. Couple of solid trials under the belt, watch betting.

5 Yorga Pride (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to resume a winner for Team Williams. This filly is first up, having not raced since Feb 2 at Bunbury when down the track, perhaps an end of prep run, in the Breeders Classic. Given a good break and her Lark Hill trial win last week was sharp. Like her here.

3 Lucky I Am (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and only run well, as seen at Pinjarra over this trip last start, leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in to win well. With her racing style, she’ll give herself every chance.

4 Main Act (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a win over 1000m at Pinjarra where he got better as the race went on and was impressive in the run to the line. 1200m is the query but with a soft run in tracnsit, I think he’ll be fine.

6 Fancy Red (Bet Now:  $SP.00) picks herself I feel. She spanked them two weeks ago in the Belmont Oaks at Bunbury, getting better as the race went on and was dominant late in the piece. Racing like she’ll eat up 2200m and with the weight pull, I like her here.

1 Arcadia Park (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a game winner of the Aquanita at Bunbury. Credit to him, he was on speed and there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and get the job done in pretty good fashion. He’s got upside/improvement and a good racing style.

8 Lillian (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a first four contender. She ran third in the Belmont Oaks and at the top of the straight, but whether it was the wet track, the trip…not sure, but she just battled late to run third. 2200m on a firmer deck should be fine, she’s in the mix.

7 Arcadia Knight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to bounce back. He resumed with a bang at Pinjarra before racing there again three weeks ago and for mine, just raced a touch on the flat side. Hard fit, good record at Belmont and hard fit now, he appeals as one of the hardest to beat.

2 Famous Dain (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. He ran over 1690m at Bunbury a fortnight back when near the speed throughout and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Lano. Think with a more patient steer, he can bounce back.

9 Alaskan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver at odds for Neville Parnham. He ran behind Lano two weeks back at Bunbury where he seemingly had every chance but just whacked in the run to the line. His best is good enough so I wouldn’t be dismissing him.

10 Objectify (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good record at Belmont and I think she can bounce back for Dan Morton. Big win first up at Pinjarra before racing there four weeks ago when back, wide with cover, and just couldn’t get involved when down the track behind Want A Winner. With her best, she takes beating.

9 Want A Winner (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m at Bunbury a fortnight back where he landed on speed and was there to threaten but on the bog track, he couldn’t pick his feet up late. Firmer deck, he can bounce back.

2 Russian Sniper (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance after racing two weeks back at Bunbury over 1200m where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I loved the way he closed off late in the piece. If he can be within range, he has the finale to threaten.

10 Antique Queen…(Bet Now:  $SP.00) can she put her hand up for staying races during the Carnival? Time will tell. But, while she is better suited over further, she looks a good staying mare on the up and I thinks he can resume a winner. She hasn’t raced since Feb 2 at Bunbury when a strong winner over 2200m. Keen to see how she goes.

4 Soldanelle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Stefan Vahala trained mare that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since Feb 8 at Ascot when a strong third over 1400m in a tidy race. Fresh at 1300m and Pike on signals clear intent, so watch betting.

3 Idyllic Ruler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in with a shout for Jim Taylor. He has been given a mini freshen up since June 2 at Northam when attempting to lead throughout and tried hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Not sure he wins, but with his racing style, he can pinch first four.

1 Simply Thinkin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one I am siding with. Adam Durrant trained mare that won over 1400m at Pinjarra last time out, giving them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. Comes to town but she is a mare in form and strikes a winnable race.

10 Li’l Capri (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at Pinjarra when back near last in the run and worked home strongly late in the piece when a narrow third to My Idol. Back to 1300m I find interesting but she gets in well after the claim and should laucnh late.

7 Warralea Lass (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver for Steve Wolfe. She resumed two weeks back over 1400m at Bunbury where she got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she kept chasing and was good late in the piece. First four contender.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 10 Supernatural

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 10 Antique Queen
