Godolphin star Ombudsman has joined Hong Kong champion Ka Ying Rising at the top of the latest Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings, with both gallopers now rated 131.

Ombudsman climbed to the summit after receiving a six-point increase following his dominant victory in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The unbeaten campaign has elevated the Godolphin entire from a previous rating of 125 to share top honours in the global standings.

Ka Ying Rising also improved his mark, rising from 130 to 131 following a reassessment of his performance in the Chairman’s Sprint Prize at Sha Tin.

The Hong Kong sprint sensation retains his place among the world’s highest-rated racehorses after another outstanding season.

French Group 1 winner Camille Pissarro also made significant progress, entering the world’s top 10 after earning a rating of 124 for his Coral-Eclipse Stakes victory.

Other notable movers included Dubai World Cup winner Hit Show and Japanese star Meisho Tabaru, whose Takarazuka Kinen success was rewarded with an improved international rating.

The latest Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings are based on performances up to July 5 and are compiled by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities’ panel of handicappers.
