Ten races have been set down for Sha Tin on Wednesday, where the depth looks pretty good across the program.

Race 1. (15:00) Shenyang Handicap (Class 5) 1400m
4 Windicator Family (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the way I’m going with in the opener. He resumed at this track/distance when off speed and found the line well enough in defeat when third. Fitter, can settle closer in the run and be effective late. Hard to beat.
2 Cashiscash (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run at this track/distance just over two weeks ago when off speed and worked to the line well when second. If he can overcome the tricky gate, he can win.
6 Team Happy (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a sticky draw but is capable. He ran fifth at this track/distance when resuming. He seemingly got every chance in transit and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through. One for exotics.
Race 2. (15:30) Chongqing Handicap (Class 4) 1200m
4 Sea Emerald (Bet Now: $SP.00) is hard to beat after a first up placing at this track/distance when off speed and worked home strongly when third. Positive ride and I think he’ll map ideally and be hard to hold out.
1 Master Phoenix (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a David Eustace trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since March 2 when pulling up lame at this track/distance. Prior efforts were more than sound and he looks to have trialled up very well for the return.
6 Gastronomique (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Darci Brahma that debuts for John Size. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one and hasn’t been too bad. I’d say watch betting and see what it does.
Race 3. (16:00) Nanning Handicap (Class 5) 1200m
6 Ragnarr (Bet Now: $SP.00) is bursting to win for David Hall. He ran over this trip at Happy Valley last start when getting off speed and spotted those in front a start but was a real eye catcher late. Purton on, bigger track, he appeals big time.
9 You’remyeverything (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since a track/distance win, giving them a start and a beating, producing a brilliant finale to score. If he can be within range, he has the finale to be dangeeous.
3 Sunny Darling (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He ran here on Sunday where he got off speed and was never really a factor. If he brings his best, he can run a much improved race at odds.
Race 4. (16:30) Chongqing Handicap (Class 4) 1200m
8 Groovy Feeling (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He ran over this track/distance just over two weeks ago where he seemed to get every chance in transit and was solid in defeat but did have his chance I thought. I think that despite the wide draw, Purton is on and this isn’t a deep contest.
2 Do Your Part (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1400m a few weeks ago here when off speed and worked home well in defeat behind The Heir when third. Back to 1200m should be fine and he’ll be strong at the end.
7 Incredible Moment (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Royal Meeting that resumes for Mark Newnham. He is first up, having not raced since May 31 when down the track behind Lucky My Way. Looks to have trialled well leading in, so watch betting.
Race 5. (17:00) Jinan Handicap (Class 4) 1800m
6 Forever Folks (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes to Sha Tin after a first up win over this trip at Happy Valley, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display. Sha Tin should be fine and is one of the hardest to beat.
11 Firefoot (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran sixth to Forever Folks in the race mentioned above. He got into a decent spot in transit and was there to threaten and just whacked late. Maps to do no work, hard fit, I am not dismissing him.
3 Packing Hurricane (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a seven year old gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since July 9 over this trip at Happy Valley when down the track behind Jumbo Legend. Trial work has been more than encouraging so watch the market.
Race 6. (17:35) Changdu Handicap (Class 4) 1400m
3 Invincible Ibis (Bet Now: $SP.00) is running out of chances but perhaps Purton on first time can see him break the maiden status despite the draw. He resumes here a few weeks ago and did seem to have his chance but just whacked in the run to the line when third. If he brings his best, I think he wins.
5 Victory Champion (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the key and I dare say only threat. He debuted over 1200m here a few weeks back and was one of the real eye catchers of the meeting I thought, closing strongly late when second. Can settle much closer in the run, upside, extra furlong…he’ll run a beauty.
8 Strange Alert (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a David Eustace trained gelding that resumes. He had two runs to start his career when last in work and was solid without jumping up and down. Trialled well thiugh so watch the market.
Race 7. (18:05) The National Day Cup 1000m
7 Bottomuptogether (Bet Now: $SP.00) loves the straight course and back to this trip, he’ll take a power of beating. He resumed in the Chief Executives Cup when outclassed but far from disgraced behind Ka Ying Rising. Better suited here, it’ll take a good one to beat him I’d suggest.
1 Beauty Waves (Bet Now: $SP.00) is another that likes the straight course and I think can improve sharply. I was keen on him running well behind Ka Ying Rising but I don’t think he handled the shifty track at all. Better suited at 1000m, he can take this out.
5 Fast Network (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He comes back to 1000m after resuming over 1400m when on speed and was there to win but just couldn’t quite finish his race when a close up fourth to Markwin. He’ll be strong late. Just depends if he gets run off his legs.
Race 8. (18:40) Beijing Handicap (Class 2) 1400m
1 Hong Lok Golf (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very progressive galloper that resumes. He has won his of his seven career outings and while he is nothing flash, he just gets the job done. Looks to have trialled well for the return and does have class on his side.
5 Steps Ahead (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after resuming over the mile at Happy Valley when off speed and worked home well when fourth. He can settle handy, Purton on, he rates highly.
2 Taj Dragon (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes through the Markwin race mentioned above. He was first up there where he got a fair way back off speed but worked home well enough in defeat I thought. Tick over trial was quite good, I am not dismissing him.
Race 9. (19:15) Shanghai Handicap (Class 3) 1200m
9 Akashvani (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came at this track/distance a few weeks ago. He got into a good spot near the speed and was there to threaten but first up, condition just gave way. Drawn wide but should press forward and take beating.
2 New Future Folks (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a threat at odds. His last run came on May 4 over 1400m here when on speed and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Winning Ovation. Fresh at 1200m is interesting but has trialled well for the return, so watch the market.
3 Holmes A Court (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He was a promising horse when racing in Australia but he hasn’t really fired a shot since arriving in Hong Kong. That said, he has been given a good break and his trial work has been encouraging, so watch betting.
Race 10. (19:50) Tianjin Handicap (Class 3) 1400m
6 Lucky My Way (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Proisir that resumes. He ended last season on a high with two wins, both coming over 1200m here, each time giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. He’ll likely get back again but will launch late.
4 Top Dragon (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a handy four year old that is first up. He hasn’t raced since a June 28 here when producing an end of prep run when down the track. Purton booked fresh is a good lead and has trialled well.
3 Anode (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since resuming at this track/distance. He got off speed and didn’t fire a shot when down the track. Hasn’t quite set the world on fire since arriving from Australia but his best is clearly good enough. One for exotics.
