Watch ๐Ÿ“บ Royal Ascot winner to target 2021 Melbourne Cup

Superstar trainer Charlie Appleby confirmed after his exciting young stayer KEMARI (Dubawi) โ€“ who was bred by Luca Cumani -may well come to Melbourne this year for the Melbourne Cup.

And after he won the Queenโ€™s Vase at Royal Ascot last night showing a stunning turn of foot late in the 2834m race, he now looks like a superb lightweight hope.

โ€œHeโ€™s a lovely horse,โ€ said Appleby, โ€œAnd heโ€™s getting better all the time.

โ€œHe may well develop into a Cups horse โ€“ is the Melbourne cup this year too soon, weโ€™ll see but he is a very strong stayer and a straight forward horse.โ€

Amazingly this was just Kemariโ€™s 4th race start and second win.

Kemari is owned by Godolphin.

He comfortably beat the highly touted Ballydoyle stayer Wordsworth by nearly 2 lengths and had his measure all the way down the long Ascot straight.

Stowell was 3rd and Benaud flashed home for 4th.

He, Benaud, also looks a superb 2021 Melbourne Cup type after coming from last on the bend in a slowly run race.

Plus, being by Australia, someone should buy him as he is named after one of our icons, Richie Benaud.
