The concerns over the welfare of controversial Group One winner Azkedellia are unfounded with the mare reportedly sold at a livestock auction in Echuca for $615,000.
The G1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes winner went into the auction with a reserve of $300k with a winning bid of $615k said to have secured the ex conman conman Peter Forster owned mare.
After the news was announced that she and three other ex racehorses owned by the conman were going through the sale, the auction houses facebook page posted that she nor the other horses are not at risk of being sold to a meat buyer.
