Trained by Peter Snowden, the talented colt was in a class of his own during the Ken Russell Classic at the Gold Coast on Saturday, storming to an emphatic victory by over eight lengths on a rain-affected surface.
Despite the ease of his win, connections have decided not to stretch his campaign through the remainder of the Brisbane Winter Carnival.
Henry Field, principal of Newgate Farm and a key figure behind the colt’s ownership group, confirmed Beadman would now be spelled rather than continue racing this preparation.
On the back of his dominant Gold Coast win, Beadman was immediately installed as the favourite for the Group 2 Sires’ Produce Stakes.
However, spring goals now come into play, with races such as the Golden Rose and the Coolmore Stud Stakes identified as key targets for the rising star.
There’s also a possibility Beadman could come under consideration for a slot in The Everest, adding even more intrigue to his spring prospects.
