WA racing this Saturday heads to Pinjarra. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Mandurah Cup 🏆: View the Field and Odds for the Mandurah Cup
Race 1. (16:08) Sbs Computers (Rs0ly) 1300m
3 Sunshine Tafe (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks quite clearly the way to go in the opener for mine. Peter Fernie trained filly that ran over 1200m at Ascot last Saturday where she got wide no cover and did plenty of work but to her credit, she stuck on and was quite game in defeat behind Daytona Pete. If that hasn’t busted her, I think she takes beating against these.
2 At Your Service (Bet Now: $SP.00) raced over this track/distance last time out for Luke Fernie and was pretty good in defeat. She got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job when third to Ain’tsobad, who does look above average and is hard to beat later in the card. She has that 1300m run under the belt, which should hold her in good stead.
4 Lipstick Jungle (Bet Now: $SP.00) hasn’t done much wrong in a two start career and commands some level of respect. She gave them a start and a beating to win like a good horse on debut at Narrogin before going to Bunbury where she got off the speed and took a while to wind up but was good late when fourth. She has the talent to measure up.
Race 2. (16:44) Batteries N More Mdn 1300m
6 She’s Perfection (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a touch of class about her and despite 1300m being short of her best, I think she is the way to go here. Dan Morton trained mare that did contest the WA Oaks in the Autumn and was far from disgraced in defeat before a down the track effort over 2400m at Ascot. Given a good break and has trialled up really well for the return, so keen to see how she goes.
7 Lunch In Paris (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a stablemate of She’s Perfection that has the race fitness on her side. She resumed several weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Oisin. She has upside/improvement and can settle much closer in the run.
8 Another Gosha (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1300m after resuming over 1000m at Bunbury. She got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up ground and was pretty good in defeat. Better set up here, I wouldn’t dismiss her.
Race 3. (17:24) Bridgetown Jigsaw Gallery (Rs0ly) 1200m
2 Another Strike (Bet Now:Â $SP.00) looks the winner here, all things being equal. This guy resumed over 1000m at Ascot where he got back to near last in the run and although held up at times, he found the line really well and was quite good in defeat behind Devine Belief. Fitter and up in trip, back miles in grade/depth, I think it could be a case of good luck beating him.
5 Our Rocky Bay (Bet Now: $SP.00) brings the right form around her to give this a shake. She ran over 1400m at Ascot where she attempted to lead throughout and she gave a solid kick from the front but couldn’t quite see it through behind Papavero Princess. Back to 1200m I like and with front end control. she’ll take running down.
1 Famous Jurney (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1100m at Ascot. He was wide throughout and just couldn’t get involved when down the track behind All Play. Better set up here, he’s a definite improver at odds.
Race 4. (18:04) Country Comfort Hcp 2000m
3 War Matters (Bet Now:Â $SP.00) looks the one to beat after a couple of runs over 1800m at Ascot, the latest run seeing him get a fair way out of his ground but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Prophet And Power. 2000m should be ideal and with a more positive steer, takes beating.
4 Abissi (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for Michael Grantham. He didn’t do a bad job in defeat two back at Belmont over the mile before going to 1900m at Albany where he got back in the run and off the speed but found the line well enough in defeat when second. 2000m is fine and he’s in the right camp.
5 Vancouver Storm (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran last in the Albany race mentioned above. He attempted to lead throughout in that race but didn’t fire a shot and was a bit on the plain side late in the piece behind Magic Mikey. I think with a more patient steer, he’s an improver.
Race 5. (18:40) Stable Affairs Hcp (C3) 1200m
5 En Plein Air (Bet Now:Â $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. That win came at this track/distance where he got a beaut run in transit near the speed before being presented clear air and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. He should have upside/improvement to come and strikes another winnable race.
10 Ain’tsobad (Bet Now: $SP.00) has returned in beast mode. This mare is 2/2 this time in, the latest coming over 1300m here when landing outside the speed and was absolutely trucking before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Can only see more to come from her, so she’s clearly hard to beat.
4 Capo Veloce (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Colin Webster trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since June 29 at Belmont when finding wet ground and he couldn’t really get involved behind Bird’s The Word. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and has trialled up nicely for the return.
Race 6. (19:18) Wignalls Wines Hcp (C1) 1400m
10 Cosmic Spirit (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a beautifully bred filly that looks set to continue her winning ways. She did more than enough on debut here before going to Albany where she looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted after getting back. She’ll eat up 1400m for mine and all things equal, she’s far too good for these.
1 Milly’s Clever (Bet Now: $SP.00) Too comes back to 1400m after racing over the mile here last time out. She got into a decent spot behind the speed and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get there when third to impressive winner Rommeo. Back in trip is fine and she’ll be strong late.
4 Zeezea (Bet Now:Â $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m. She ran over 1200m here last time in the En Plein Air race mentioned above. She got off the speed and although she took a little while to wind into her work, she was quite good late in the piece. Extra 200m suits and becomes dangerous with a more positive steer.
Race 7. (19:53) Mandurah Cup 1400m
Happy to speck 5 Halatorian (Bet Now:Â $SP.00) each way. He ran over 1200m last Saturday at Ascot where he was back and chasing from the outset but kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat behind the very much in form Norich. Racing like 1400m will be ideal. Hopefully can get a positive steer.
Good test here for 10 Papavero Princess (Bet Now:Â $SP.00) but Summer Dickson has her flying at the moment. Couple of weeks between runs after a win over 1400m at Ascot, giving them a start and a beating in a sharp display, albeit in a weaker race than this. I think she can measure up.
2 Sonoftheboss (Bet Now: $SP.00) is dangerous if he gets some form of front end control. The query is 1400m but if he does get the soft lead, then he becomes hard to beat. He was off speed over 1200m at Ascot last time and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat behind Keep Attacking. That was his first run in five weeks so with upside/improvement, he’s dangerous.
Race 8. (20:33) Tuckeys Hardware Hcp (C1) 1400m
3 The King’s Uncle (Bet Now: $SP.00) will do me in the get out. He ran over 1400m at Ascot last time out when off the speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat when third to Strictly Cash. Not much depth here and I think if this guy is ridden with more intent, he will be hard to hold out.
1 I’m Crafty (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to have returned in really good order. He was a dominant maiden winner at Bunbury two back before going to Ascot and the race mentioned above when off speed and kept finding the line. Just found one better. Tricky gate, but hard to beat on the way he’s currently racing.
6 Kermit’s Luck (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Luke Fernie trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Aug 1 on the Scarpside track here when finding a bog surface and was never a factor behind Desert Nymph. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and has trialled well for the return.
