Race 1. (11:00) Tab Highway Hcp (C3) 1200m
4 Chains Of Love (Bet Now: $3.10) should take a power of beating here after contesting the QLD Day Stakes at Eagle Farm when well backed late. She landed on speed, chased and tried hard but just felt the pinch late. If there is petrol left in the tank, she’s a clear top seed.
7 She Within (Bet Now: $11.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it. Gave them a start and a beating to win the Highway two weeks ago, producing a very good finale from off speed to score. She will give them a start but launch late.
12 Cambar (Bet Now: $35.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He was 1000m to 1200m when racing here several weeks back and was solid but did seemingly have his chance behind Exit Fee. Hard fit now being third up, he’s dangerous.
Race 2. (11:35) Midway (Bm72) 1600m
8 Perfect Justice (Bet Now: $2.60) should love getting to the mile after racing over 1500m here two weeks ago when off speed and held up but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat. Getting towards peak fitness, can settle closer, he takes beating.
13 Peace Officer (Bet Now: $21.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1550m at Canterbury last time out when just off speed and tried hard but just didn’t quite have the finale to go with them late. He has run well at Midway level previously, I am not dismissing.
17 Callistemon (Bet Now: $17.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. She ran two weeks back in the Midway here and just whacked late behind Is It Spectacular. Hard fit now…she is hit and miss but her best is clearly good enough.
Race 3. (12:10) Schweppes (Bm72) 1600m
4 Nitro (Bet Now: $2.60) is getting towards contender or pretender time. He should have won at Scone last start before racing here two weeks ago. He landed off speed and worked home well but did seemingly have his chance. Hard fit now, D Day for mine.
5 Bird Whistle (Bet Now: $5.50) is a talented filly for the Cavanough camp that ran over this track/distance two weeks ago, attempting to lead throughout and she gave a strong kick from the front but couldn’t withstand the finale of Bravissima. Good racing style, tough, in form, she appeals.
1 Duvana (Bet Now: $17.00) steps up to 1600m after racing over 1500m three weeks ago at Rosehill. I just don’t think he ran the trip out, especially on the testing ground. Firmer deck, he’s a big improver I say against these.
Race 4. (12:45) Kia Ora Bloodlines To Headlines (Bm72) 1300m
1 Hello Captain (Bet Now: $1.75) looks a really good prospect for Chris Waller. 3/3 to start his career, with two of those wins being this time in. Latest was at Canterbury when lumping the big weight but gave them a start and a beating. Keen to see how he goes because I do think he is Group class.
7 Front Rank (Bet Now: $5.00) had the pattern in his corner when a debut winner at Canterbury but even allowing for that, I thought he was impressive from the front and gave nothing else a look in. Should press forward and take beating.
6 Matima (Bet Now: $35.00) was pretty good in defeat at this trip at Kembla last time, landing on speed and tried hard but had to settle for a second to Presides. Good racing style, he should be around the mark against these.
Race 5. (13:20) B&J Guttering & Metal Roofing (Bm78) 1800m
5 Nasebah (Bet Now: $2.15) should be winning. She should have won here two weeks ago but Siena Grima got handled by Nash on the eventual winner Bravissima and it ended up being an ugly watch. Hard fit now and rising back up to 1800m, I think good luck beating her.
3 Shangri La Impact (Bet Now: $3.50) gets front end control and could be dangerous. Total forgive at Rosehill last time, leading and on the bog track she couldn’t pick her feet up late in the piece. Should lead comfortably and run a bold race.
7 Allegro Miss (Bet Now: $41.00) was scratched from a much easier race at Canterbury on Wednesday in preference for this. She ran over 1900m last week at Canterbury, getting off speed and worked home okay without threatening. Down in the weights, she’ll run well.
Race 6. (13:55) Toyota Forklifts (Bm88) 1800m
I want to be very forgiving of the run from 12 Sir Dinadan (Bet Now: $4.80) three weeks ago here. He looked to be trucking in behind the speed but when asked for the effort, the wheels were spinning, and I’d put that down to the bog track and 62kg impost. Much better set up here, I think he’ll only run well.
10 Time Quest (Bet Now: $51.00) looks to be back on track for Matty Smith. Jury was out early on in the prep but he ran a much improved race two weeks ago over the mile here, closing well from off speed behind Formal Display. Like him up to 1800m and strikes a winnable race.
4 Sky Lab (Bet Now: $71.00) had a suck run behind the speed two weeks back here and tried hard but just lacked the killer finale behind Formal Display. That said, I thought he was far from disgraced. Hit and miss but off last run, he’s a knockout hope.
Race 7. (14:30) Ensure - Workplace Risk Solutions (Bm78) 1000m
10 Aleppo Pine (Bet Now: $16.00) is worth a throw at the stumps. He’s had a few homes throughout his time but is now with Richard Litt, a stable who can fire with a Godolphin cast off. Tick over trial was very good, he’ll stalk the speed and launch late.
3 Big Red Tequila (Bet Now: $5.50) should be better for the first up run, which came a fortnight back at this track/distance when off speed and held up at times but was good late when clear when second to Ice Kool. Fitter, she takes beating.
5 Polyglot (Bet Now: $20.00) trials like Tarzan and races like Jane. Such a frustrating horse to follow because to the eye, he looks a talent, but race day has been a different story. He’s trialled super again and will launch late.
Race 8. (15:05) Cactus Imaging (Bm94) 1200m
2 Bustling (Bet Now: $4.40) ran second in the Bel Esprit three weeks ago at Caulfield. He tried his absolute guts out on the testing track but just found one better in Hearcomesthestar. Getting towards peak fitness and both runs back suggest a win is coming.
4 Imperial Force (Bet Now: $9.00) was ridden with intent a fortnight back in the Bob Charley and I thought was there to win but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late in the piece. He is capable at this level and hard fit, he commands respect.
5 Romeo’s Choice (Bet Now: $20.00) was a total forgive form the Bob Charley two weeks back given he was three and four wide the trip, with the hard run just telling late. If he can get a soft run in transit, think he’s going well enough to figure at a price.
Race 9. (15:45) Civic Stakes 1400m
8 Cool Jakey (Bet Now: $5.00) will jump on the bunny and take beating, as seen two weeks ago over 1300m here when winning. He sat on speed and was trucking under Hippo before being clicked up and away he went for a commanding triumph. Good upside/improvement to come, he takes beating.
11 Whinchat (Bet Now: $17.00) will jump on the bunny and run a positive ride. Just think he did a bit too much work on speed in the Luskin Star and just felt the pinch late in the piece. Think with a better time of it on speed, he’ll run a beauty.
1 Eliyass (Bet Now: $81.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with GaiBott, he’s now with Ciaron Maher. His last run came in the 2025 Doomben Cup when down the track behind Antino. Has clearly had issues but has talent and his trial work has been more than encouraging. Definite yard/market watch.
Race 10. (16:25) Ranvet 'Robbie Hoffmann' (Bm78) 1400m
21 Invader Zim (Bet Now: $8.00) is in a purple patch for Chris Waller. Gritty winner two back before racing here again two weeks ago when off speed and chased strongly but had to settle for a second to Mr Chaplin. He’s found form, he’s holding it…he appeals.
1 Glorious Moments (Bet Now: $3.30) looks a nice horse for Team Lee. Big win first up at the midweeks at Warwick Farm with the big weight before going here when given a poor steer by Reece Jones yet the horse still had the hide to keep chasing and finding the line. He is a key chance.
5 Sergeant Major (Bet Now: $35.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He ran over a few weeks ago behind Invader Zim when near the speed and seemingly had his chance. Just couldn’t quite pick his feet up. His best is clearly good enough.
