Black Caviar’s trainer Peter Moody will front the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board next week to defend a positive urine swab taken from one of his horses in May.
The Moody-trained Lethal Arrow tested positive to the prohibited substance Oripavine after winning at Pakenham on May 17.
The RAD Board will hear Moody’s case at 11.30am (AEDT) on Tuesday.
Oripavine is an opioid narcotic analgesic substance which may act as a stimulant in a horse.
Moody was formally charged in September with presenting Lethal Arrow to race with a prohibited substance in his system.
Moody has won the Melbourne trainers’ premiership the last two seasons and Macedonian will represent the stable in Saturday’s Caulfield Cup.
Last Saturday the unbeaten Black Caviar won her 14th race in the Group Two Schillaci Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield and will try for her 15th in the Group Two Schweppes Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate day.
