Walker clear for rich Queensland races

Jockey Michael Walker will be able to ride Wealth Princess in important Queensland features despite having an appeal against a careless riding charge dismissed.

Walker rode at Doomben last Saturday under a stay of proceedings and won the Group Three Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) the Darren Weir-trained mare.

Walker was suspended for eight meetings for careless riding on Harry’s Magic at Echuca last Tuesday.

The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary on Tuesday dismissed his appeal and his suspension started at midnight on Monday night and expires at midnight on May 29.

Walker will ride Wealth Princess in the Group Two Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 2 which will be her lead-up to the Group One Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 9.
