Trainer Annabel Neasham’s mare, Sunshine in Paris, has been withdrawn from The Everest due to a minor foreleg injury identified in a veterinary examination.
Neasham informed Racing NSW Stewards that Sunshine in Paris will miss The Everest 2023 and all other Spring Carnival events.
Consequently, betting operators are to remove her from all feature race betting markets for the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.
Owned by John Camilleri, Sunshine in Paris was selected by Aquis for the $20m race following her win in the Group 2 Sheraco Stakes and was listed at $11 for The Everest.
With her withdrawal, other contenders, including Chris Waller Racing, Coolmore, and Yulong, are evaluating their options for the upcoming race.
