Punters have day to forget at Wyong

It was a frustrating afternoon for punters at Wyong on Wednesday but no so for Christian Reith who took riding honours with a treble.

Reith notched his three wins in successive races aboard the Kris Lees-trained Gold Epona ($4), the Chris Waller-trained Forever Crazy ($4.40) and Tunes ($6) for Darley head trainer Peter Snowden.

Punters didn’t have as much luck.

No favourites were successful on the seven-race card with Gold Epona the shortest-priced winner.

Patinack Farm’s Greek Island, a $14 chance, set the mood for the day when he led throughout in the first race.

He was one of four winners who started double-figure odds, along with the David Payne-trained Dream Choice ($20) in the final event.

The well-bred four-year-old, who brought up his third career victory, is by Redoute’s Choice out of Patou, making him a half-brother to 2003 Golden Slipper winner Polar Success.
