Three-year-old Home Affairs filly Natural Fling is $3 joint favourite with proven Group 1 sprinter Giga Kick for Saturday’s A J Moir Stakes.
The 1000m sprint, to be run at Sandown this year due to Moonee Valley’s redevelopment, has drawn 18 nominations, with trainers Tony and Calvin McEvoy likely to pit their talented filly Natural Fling against the older horses.
Natural Fling resumed from a spell with an impressive win in the Quezette Stakes.
As well as Giga Kick, in-form mare Cavalry Girl, Trent Edmonds’ mare Extragalactic and Robert Sangster Stakes winner Geegees Mistruth are also entered for the $750,000 Moir.
New-season four-year-old My Gladiola, Ole Dancer and Point Barrow have also been nominated for the Group 1 sprint race.
