The victory of eight-year-old Here To There at Caulfield has given apprentice Ethan Brown his greatest thrill in racing.
Brown couldnโt believe his fortune at guiding Here To There home a winner in Thebigscreencompany.com.au Handicap on Saturday.
Apprenticed to Mick Kent at Cranbourne, Brown first started working with horses in Alice Springs.
Itโs where he came across Here To There at the stables of Greg Connor.
Brown, then a 14-year-old, began his apprenticeship with the Alice Springs horseman and Here To There was the horse he first learned to ride on.
โI learned my horsemanship skills with this horse,โ Brown said.
After four starts in the Northern Territory, Here To There found his way to Adelaide before joining the Ciaron Maher stable in 2015.
โThe way itโs all worked out is unbelievable,โ Brown said.
โThat would have to be one of my biggest buzzes Iโve got out of a win ever.
โItโs a great feeling getting back with the old horse, especially here at Caulfield.โ
Backed from $10 to $6, Here To There scored by a neck from By The Grace ($101) with Ozi Choice, the $4.40 favourite, a nose away third.
