Brad Rawiller nearing return after bad fall

Group One winning jockey Brad Rawiller hopes to be back in the saddle and riding as early as next week after he broke his collarbone and punctured his lung in a fall last month.

The former Victorian jockey made the move to Perth last year to reinvigorate his riding career and after a promising start his good run of form came to a halt after suffering a bad fall at Bunbury where he cracked his ribs and punctured his lung.

β€œI am optimistic,” Rawiller explained.

β€œI go back to see the doctor next Tuesday and I hope to be riding trackwork on Wednesday.

β€œWhen it happened they told me it would be a minimum two months out so I am tracking ahead of schedule.”

Rawiller had a dream start to his WA riding career after winning aboard Elite Street in theΒ Group One Winterbottom Stakes.
