Racing Twitter went into meltdown following the running of the World Horse Racing Desirable Stakes (1400m) on Melbourne Cup day after the race favourites copped a sick beat.
Joviality was sent out as the $3.50 favourite with online bookmaker Sportsbet but those who got on were picking themselves up off the floor after a questionable ride by jockey James Mcdonald.
Joviality jumped from the outsider barrier in the field of 12 with Mcdonald taking three-year-old to the back of the field.
What happened next is enough to make anyone who backed the race favourite sick.
