Senior jockey Blake Shinn has replaced apprentice Chad Schofield as the rider of Eight Bills in Friday night’s Canterbury Classic.
Trainer Gary Portelli inadvertently declared Schofield as the rider of Eight Bills in the $100,000 Listed event when he intended it to be Shinn.
Portelli informed stewards of the situation and they have permitted Shinn to ride the gelding in the 1100m feature.
Eight Bills finished fourth in the Listed Carrington Stakes last start and is at $13 with TAB Sportsbet for Friday’s race.
