Lyre, last season’s winner of the Blue Diamond, and Loving Gaby are $11 equal favourites at TAB for the Thousand Guineas at Caulfield on October 12.
The Anthony Freedman-trained Lyre won Victoria’s premier two-year-old event at Caulfield last February and was third to Kiamichi and Microphone in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens a month later.
Loving Gaby – one-time Blue Diamond favourite after her outstanding debut win at Caulfield on February 2 – finished sixth in the Blue Diamond and fourth in the Golden Slipper before Group 1 runner-up finishes in the Inglis Sires’ and Champagne Stakes at Royal Randwick last April.
