Southside Racing will take centre stage this Saturday as the Spring Carnival shifts to Cranbourne for one of the season’s most lucrative country meetings.
The program features the $500,000 Cranbourne Cup and the $1 million Meteorite (1200m) — Australia’s richest country sprint race.
A total of 13 slot holders have secured their positions for The Meteorite, though several are yet to finalise their runners.
Confirmed starters include Jenni The Fox (Cape Schanck Racing), Nadal (Ciaron Maher Racing), Jigsaw (Moonee Valley Racing Club), Zou Sensation (OTI Racing), Stretan Angel (Southside Racing), Watchme Win (Lofty Thoroughbred Group), Need Some Luck (Ladbrokes) and Hedged (Carl Holt).
The remaining six slot holders — including Lindsay Park, Moody Racing and Sheamus Mills Bloodstock — are expected to announce their selections in the coming days, with a strong field anticipated for Saturday’s feature.
