Back Me

5 Varejao (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a nice juvenile I think. He did have a stint with GaiBott but now finds himself under the care of Stuart Kendrick, and debuting on the home track signals some form of intent I say. He has had two trials in readiness for start one under Kendrick and each time he has been impressive, so keen to see how he goes.

Danger

All you can do is win and that is what 1 Shaggy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) did on debut at Coffs over 800m. He beat nothing, but winning by nearly six lengths in an 800m race is a pretty good effort, albeit in a weak race. He has the tricky draw, but think he can carve across and prove hard to beat.

Long Shot

2 Vega Nova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the debut run, which came over 800m at Ipswich when near the speed throughout and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when second to Impervious. 1000m should be and with the run under the belt, commands respect.

Race 2. (13:48) The X3. Coastline BMW Plate (Class 3) 1600m

Back Me

7 Valimi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) either runs well here or his racing days will be at Taree. Former French galloper that has had two runs down under. Looked in need of the run fresh at Randwick before going to Wyong where I am not sure he was 100% happy around the tight track but kept finding the line in a good effort. Hard fit at 1600m, he’ll do me but it’s D Day.

Danger

8 Zaher (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at Eagle Farm when back near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was good in defeat behind Torabella. Home track advantage and can settle much closer in the run.

Long Shot

All you can do is win and that is what 5 Half Listening (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done in two career outings, winning on debut at Murwillumbah when with Matty Dunn. Changed stables, resumed on the Poly, and was an impressive winner from off speed. Think he measures up.

Race 3. (14:23) The M2. Coastline BMW Handicap (68) 2200m

Back Me

11 Iberian Ruler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned really well for Neasham/Archibald and is one of the hardest to beat off the back of a win over 2100m at Lismore. He got into a decent spot near the speed before being presented clear air and in a driving go, he was too good for them. Has upside/improvement to come and strikes a winnable race.

Danger

1 Vaguer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for the Neasham/Archibald camp after racing over 1800m at Eagle Farm last time. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a solid kick from the front but couldn’t quite see it through, tiring late. I think with a more patient steer, 2200m is fine and his best is good enough.

Long Shot

4 Disputed River (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is fourth up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for local trainer Stuart Kendrick. Latest run was over the mile on the Poly at the Sunny Coast. He gave a sight but just tired late in the piece. The rise in trip is fine and overall, this isn’t a deep contest.

Back Me

1 Spywire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has class when at his best so keen to see how he goes for Ciaron Maher. He resumed in The Sunlight where he did too much work on speed and was a beaten horse a fair way out behind Private Harry. Much better suited at this level and he does look suited back to 1000m.

Danger

8 Cosmo Centaurus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Cosmic Force three year old for Rob Heathcoate that resumes off the back of a debut win at this track/distance back on Aug 10 where he looked a good thing on paper and despite a few nervous moments, he was too good. Loved the way he trialled last week at Doomben and appears ready to go.

Long Shot

3 Defiant Boom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Stuart Kendrick trained three year old that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Sep 21 at the Gold Coast when down the track behind Mishani Lily. Good on the fresh side and has trialled up nicely for the return.

Race 5. (15:33) The X5. Coastline BMW Handicap 1400m

Back Me

3 Blitzum (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should eat up a fast run 1400m here. He ran over 1400m here several weeks ago where he was one of the eye catchers of the meeting I thought, closing off with purpose in a pretty good effort behind Run Lucy Run. He was over a month between runs there so he has a stack of upside/improvement and he’ll be strong late.

Danger

7 Atomic Clock (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned well and I think she can measure up here. She resumed at Beaumont Newcastle where she got into a decent spot just off the speed before being presented clear air and away she went to win and win well. Harder here, but I think she’ll run very well.

Long Shot

8 Vienna Who (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like a rise to 1400m will suit after racing over 1200m at Eagle Farm last time when back in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she made up good headway. Likely spots them a start but should be strong at the end.

Back Me

14 Termagant (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Matty Hoysted. This girl ran last time out over 1000m at Eagle Farm when wide throughout but loomed large to win…but for some reason, despite the horse wanting to lay in, Lane had the whip in the left hand. Work that out…she ran a close up second to Flag Hall. Has a touch of quality about her, she rates highly.

Danger

7 Flaming Conquest (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to lump the weight for that but the reason for that is that she is the class factor by some distance. She ran over this track/distance four weeks back when on speed and tried hard but lacked the finale to go with them late behind Bezique. If she lands in front, she’ll be dangerous.

Long Shot

16 Zingalong (Bet Now:  $SP.00) tends to save his best for the track/distance and will give cheek at odds. He resumed at this track/distance on testing ground when leading and giving a sight but on wet ground, he just felt the pinch late when a close up fourth. Not sure he wins, but can fill a first four spot at a price.

Back Me

13 Tellez (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous if within range on the turn. Just got a bit too far out of his ground last time out at Eagle Farm but I did like the way he found the line late in the piece behind Flag Hall. If he’s within range and gets cover, he has the finale to beat them.

Danger

12 Streak Of Winning (Bet Now:  $SP.00)…beware the unbeaten horse. 2/2 to start his career, both on the home deck at the Sunny Coast. The debut was an impressive win over 1000m before going to 1200m when leading throughout and found plenty late to fend off Winsome Star. That form, to my eye, does read well for this.

Long Shot

11 Winsome Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing here on Boxing Day when off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat when second to Streak Of Winning. Tick over trial was good and although she’ll spot them a start she should be strong at the end.

Back Me

9 Devastate (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me in what looks a tricky race. Tony Gollan trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since July 27 at Doomben when a game third after leading, giving a strong kick but just felt the pinch late in the piece. He does go well fresh and has trialled up super. Lands near the front and only runs well.

Danger

12 Party For Two (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the leading contenders. She hasn’t raced since Boxing Day here when somewhat struggling on the wet track behind the in form Busting. Freshened up and the tick over trial has been quite good so keen to see how she goes.

Long Shot

8 Pocket Full (Bet Now:  $SP.00) tends to save his best for the home track, which is usually the case with Stuart Kendrick and his stable. Five weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Eagle Farm when back off the speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind subsequent Stakes winner Transatlantic. Back to where he races best, not penning him.

Race 9. (18:10) The i4. Coastline BMW Plate (Class 6) 1200m

Back Me

7 Millane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat for Tony Gollan. He ran a few weeks ago in The Buffering, getting back to near last in the run but made up a stack of headway and was very good in defeat behind Transatlantic. If he’s within range, he is racing well enough to take this out.

Danger

6 Metalart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here four weeks between runs for Kelly Schweida since a win over this trip at Eagle Farm where he was under pressure early but he got better as the race went on and was impressive late in wearing down Bohemian Lad to score. Tick over trial was good and off a win, commands respect against these.

Long Shot

1 Ezekeil (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kris Lees trained gelding that is having his first run for the stable after formerly being with Cody Morgan. Latest run came here on Jan 4 when back and failed to get involved behind Shalailed. Not sure he beats the first two but runs well regardless.

Race 10. (18:50) The M2. Coastline BMW Handicap (78) 1400m

Back Me

21 One Beat No Beat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me in the get out. Matty Dunn trains this mare, who is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Latest run came over 1300m at Eagle Farm when near the speed and tried hard but had no answers late for the in form Torabella. Maps ideally, hard fit…happt to be in her corner.

Danger

19 Runwiththetide (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable. Rob Heathcoate trained gelding that is racing really well at the moment, his latest run coming over 1400m at Eagle Farm when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick but just couldn’t quite see it through when nabbed late by Treporti. Weight relief here, rates highly for me.

Long Shot

7 Hollywood North (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has home track advantage and is an improver after resuming over 1200m here where he got back and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was pretty good in defeat. One for exotics.
