St Leger hopeful Namibian is undergoing surgery for colic, his trainer Mark Johnston has reported.
The colt was admitted to Newmarket Equine Hospital on Friday morning.
βNamibian has colic. Admitted Newmarket Equine Hospital this a.m. On operating table now,β Johnston said on his twitter account.
The three-year-old had looked a decent prospect for the worldβs oldest Classic at Doncaster on September 10 when winning the Queenβs Vase at Royal Ascot and the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
However, he disappointed in the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York last week when only fifth of six to Sea Moon and was a 14-1 shot for the St Leger.
