With IFHA Chair Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges deliver the IFHA Conference’s opening “but also in other sports, and fully commit to continue uplifting integrity across all sports.”
And its the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, who will hold its 58th International Conference of Horseracing Authorities at St-Cloud Racecourse on 7 October.
Focusing on racing integrity, which is a key strategic priority of the IFHA, the programme coincides with the release of the IFHA Racing Integrity Handbook, the first in the sport.
Sports television presenter Rishi Persad will serve as moderator, with Frank Clarke as Director of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board and Former Chief Justice of Ireland.
In delivering the keynote speech, Frank Clarke addresses the needs regarding the robust systems that protect against legal challenges and issues, and followed by others.
Susan Ahern is Arbitrator at Court of Arbitration for Sport and former Head of Legal and Legislative Affairs at World Rugby, while Brett Clothier is Head of ANU Athletics Integrity.
In addition, Jenni Kennedy is the Senior Director of Investigations at the International Tennis Integrity Agency, while Andrew Adams is a Partner at international law firm Steptoe.
In joining, Andrew Harding is IFHA Executive Director, Marc Van Gestel Chief Stipendiary Steward at Hong Kong Jockey Club and Jamie Stier, Executive General Manager Integrity Services at Racing Victoria.
In addition, Cliodhna Guy is IHRB Head of Governance and Legal, Brant Dunshea is Chief Regulatory Officer at British Horseracing Authority and Martin Purbrick, Chair of Asian Racing Federation Council on Anti-illegal Betting and Related Financial Crime.
Presentations will be delivered on integrity in racing and other sports, as well as participate in panel discussions, plus live video stream of 58th ICHA on the IFHA’s website.
In light of the successful Internation al Federation for the Aftercare of Racehorses conference in Sapporo Japan, it’s Dr Eliot Forbes who will succeed Di Arbuthnot as Committee Chair.
“It has been an honour and privilege to help build IFAR into what it is today,” said Di Arbuthnot, “the aftercare of racehorses is something that’s important to me personally.”
“I am confident in Eliot’s abilities to lead and grow IFAR” as it was the conclusion of her two terms in the role of the Chair, as it is the organisation since its inception in 2016.
“I am deeply honoured to step into the role of Chair as we embark on this exciting chapter of growth,” said Dr Forbes, as “Di has been an outstanding leader, and where it’s today.”
“Without her vision, she has been a true pioneer of the organisation with both passion and poise, and the overwhelming response to our membership launch has been humbling.”
“Our committee is fully committed to expanding our international network and amplifying our positive impact for the benefit of horses around the world,” concluded Dr Forbes.
