Sussex Stakes 🏆: View the Field and Odds for the Sussex Stakes

I have landed with 1 Omni Man (Bet Now:  $SP.00) in the opener. He comes through the King George V at Royal Ascot where he was off speed and held up at times but got clear in the straight and was there to win. Just lacked change up speed. Big rider upgrade and won’t mind juice in the track.

2 Sing Us A Sing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) also comes through the King George V at Royal Ascot. He just got too far back in the run, settling near last and was never really a factor. Prior efforts were strong and certainly good enough to take out a race like this.

3 Kurakka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up in trip after coming back to 2000m at Newmarket. He landed near the speed and tried hard but just lacked the finale to go with them late when third. Like him back up in trip, he appeals as one of the key chances.

14 Tabiti (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks suited back to 1400m after resuming in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot. She landed near the front and tried her guts out but just lacked the class to finish the job. Credit to her, she was game. Back to 1400m and fitter, she takes beating.

6 Jabarra (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Queen Charlotte at Chelmsford. She landed near the speed and was there to win but just lacked the quality to finish off her race. Good racing style, she’ll give herself every chance.

3 Cloud Cover (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a strong winner of the Queen Charlotte. She gave them a start and a beating, producing nice change up speed to win and win well. Good test here, but think she can measure up against this lot.

3 Lady Iman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. She ran over 1200m in the Airlie Stud at Curragh last time wher she led and gave a strong kick from the front but was nabbed near the peg. Back in trip looks fine and with her racing style, she’ll take holding out.

4 Military Code (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance for Charlie Appleby after placing in the Coral Dragon at Sandown when back in the run before being presented clear air and drove hard late to just miss. If within range, she has the finale to win.

2 Dickensian (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in with a shout after her Windsor Castle effort at Royal Ascot. She landed on speed and fought hard the final few stages but had no answers late for the finale of Havana Hurricane. Good racign style, hard fit, he is a threat.

5 Field Of Gold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is short enough but there is a reason for that. He is a star and confirmed that, in spades, when bolting up in the St James’s Palace where the change up speed when asked for the effort…it was breathtaking. He is a beast and should be beating these.

4 Rosallion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat after his narrow second in the Queen Anne. He was there to win when presented and looked the winner but the photo went the way of Docklands. He is a class horse in his own right and is there to pick up the pieces if Field Of Gold is off his game.

2 Docklands (Bet Now:  $SP.00) probably confirmed his Cox Plate start with the Queen Anne, appreciating the slow tempo and in a driving go, the photo went his way. Not sure he is good enough to win here but is a must for exotics.

5 Power Of Destiny (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps. He ran over 2076m at Chester last start when quite keen in front and that earl burning of energy just took away her finale. Good racing style, and if she can harness her energy better, she’ll run well at odds.

9 Model Yuko (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is progressive and heading in the right direction for Roger Varian. She comes here off the back of a maiden win at Wolverhampton where she was on speed and trucking before being clicked up and away she went to win well. Confident she measures up.

4 Akecheta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps back up in trip after being 2000m back to the mile at Curragh last start when on speed and gave a sight but just felt the pinch late in the piece. I think back up in trip, with her racing style, she can threaten.

11 Zelaina (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the winner if she does everything right. She spanked them on debut at Nottingham before going to the Queen Mary where she was way too keen in the run and folded the last furlong or so. If she puts it all together, I think she has a few lengths on these. (too keen)

9 Spicy March (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was on speed and weak late in the Queen Mary as well. She then stepped up to 1200m when again on speed and tried hard but tired the final furlong, so back to 1000m I like and her best is good enough to threaten.

4 Lebron Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a sharp all the way winner on debut before going to the Coral Dragon at Sandown when on speed and was game in defeat, but just couldn’t quite finish her race off. Not sure she is good enough to win but can run top four.

14 Mr Chaplin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way in the get out. He was second up in the Britannia at Royal Ascot where he got a fair way out of his ground and was never really a factor behind Arabian Story. He can settle much closer in the run and be effective late.

1 Native Warrior (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off the back of a win at Newcastle where he settled back off the speed before being presented clear air and let down with purpose to win and win well. Good test here in an open race, but think he’ll run well.

17 Diamondonthehill (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m at Windsor. He chased the speed from the outset and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there. That said, he stayed on really well. Back up in trip, he’s in with a shout.
