John Camilleri, renowned breeder of legendary mare Winx, has acquired a slot in the prestigious $20 million The Everest.
Taking over from Aquis, Camilleri’s Fairway Thoroughbreds adds another dimension to the elite sprinting event.
Camilleri’s decision comes amid the resurgence of Sunshine In Paris, a talented mare trained by Annabel Neasham, who is poised for a potential return to The Everest path after a brief setback last spring.
Expressing his excitement, Camilleri praised Racing NSW’s development of The Everest, highlighting its allure as a pinnacle event in Australian racing.
Aquis, who previously held the slot since the race’s inception, now shifts focus to two-year-old racing and stallion development, confirming the full transfer of the slot to Camilleri.
