Nash Rawiller has lodged an appeal against the severity of a careless riding suspension from the Australian Turf Club’s meeting at Newcastle on Wednesday.
Stewards outed Rawiller for five meetings over an incident in the third race at the midweek city meeting at provincial track.
He is free to ride at Warwick Farm on Saturday but the penalty rules him out of the Randwick Guineas meeting a week later and possibly the plum mount on Pierro in the Group One race.
No date has yet been set for his appeal hearing.
Rawiller’s Warwick Farm mounts include Laser Hawk in the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes.
