Unless he successfully appeals a suspension, Ben Melham will miss lucrative rides at the Caulfield Guineas meeting.
Melham was outed at Ballarat on Thursday with his ban to begin after Saturdayβs Flemington meeting and end a day after the Caulfield Guineas meeting on October 14.
He is the regular rider of Caulfield Guineas contender Levendi and has been slated to ride Irish horse Johannes Vermeer in the Caulfield Stakes 2017.
Johannes Vermeer, trained by Aidan OβBrien and part-owned by Lloyd Williams, is in quarantine at Werribee.
