Due to a hot weather forecast, the race times for the Caulfield meeting on Saturday, featuring the Blue Diamond Stakes Preview, have been amended.

The first race will now be run at 11.20am. The gaps between races will be shortened, the time horses are required to spend in the mounting yard will be reduced … and the time a horse is required to arrive on course has been reduced to an hour prior to their scheduled race time.

The last race on the ten-race card will be run at 4.25pm.

Extra cooling stations will be provided in horse specific areas.

Racing Victoria has reiterated that, β€˜RV’s Procedure for Racing in Hot Weather Policy is enacted at meetings where hot weather is predicted to ensure the health and wellbeing of horses and participants.’

Meanwhile, yesterday, South Australia Racing posted on social media that β€˜racing SA continues to closely monitor weather conditions ahead of Saturday’s meeting at Morphettville … going on to say, β€˜In line with our Heat Policy, additional staffing remains in place to support Level 2 management measures, with horse welfare, participant safety and wellbeing our priority.’
