The future of Rosehill racecourse hangs in the balance as members of the Australian Turf Club prepare to vote on a proposed sale at an extraordinary general meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting, which will be held exclusively for ATC members, is scheduled for 2pm at Randwick Racecourse in the Ballroom on Level 2 of the QEII Stand.
Members will vote on whether to approve the ATC’s proposal to sell Rosehill, with the resolution requiring a simple majority—50 per cent plus one—for it to pass.
The proposed sale comes with seven key conditions, including a $5 billion financial commitment from the NSW government to be paid over the next 15 years.
Postal and online proxy voting closed on Sunday, while in-person and proxy voting will take place during Tuesday’s meeting, which is expected to feature significant discussion and debate.
The final decision is anticipated to be announced around 4pm on Tuesday.
