Early signs are good for Ryan Maloney

Jockey Ryan Maloney could be back riding within a week if he is cleared of any structural damage following his fall at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

The former Victorian jockey Ryan Maloney was aboard the short priced Magic Millions Guineas favourite Isotope when he clipped the heels of Away Game and fell.

Maloney was taken to hospital immediately after the incident with initial x-rays clearing him of any breaks although he will have further MRI scans to rule out any small fractures.

β€œHe’ll have to go for a MRI just to check if there is any small fractures, which there’s a possibility, but they never found anything yesterday, so he will have that done as soon as possible,” Queensland Jockey’s Association President, Glen Prentice told racing.com.
