Jockey Brad Rawiller has begun his road to recovery after suffering a nasty fall at Bunbury last Wednesday.

The former Victorian jockey made the move to Perth last year to reinvigorate his riding career and after a promising start his good run of form came to a halt after suffering a bad fall on Wednesday at Bunbury where he cracked his ribs and punctured his lung.

’I would have thought after day one, I was looking at three months at least and now, two months is not out of the question,’’ Brad Rawiller told racing.com

β€˜β€™Last night I got the drain taken out (from his lung) and I am just waiting for a final check-up so I can leave Bunbury and get to Perth to see a specialist.

β€˜β€™Up until now, it has mainly been about my breathing with the punctured lung but the drain is out now and I’ve noticed a big difference this morning.’’

Rawiller had a dream start to his WA riding career after winning aboard Elite Street in the Group One Winterbottom Stakes.
