Horse scratched after being sent to the wrong racecourse

There are many reasons a horse could get scratched ahead of a race but a Bjorn Baker runner set to go around at Wellington could take the cake for most unusual.

The Bjorn Baker trained Twilight Sun was scheduled to run in Race Three at Wellington on Sunday although it was a late scratching after the horse was transported to the wrong racecourse.

A mistake made by the float driver saw Twilight Sun get transported to Forbes racecourse instead of Wellington which ultimately saw the horse scratched.

β€œNeedless to say, I’m not happy either! Neither I, nor a member of my staff were driving the float, mate. F ups are rare, but they do happen. Rest assured I’ve been in contact with the owners and this will be sorted” Baker said.
