This was more than the AFL and NRL Grand Finals, State of Origin, Cricket World Cup or any TV show. With 2014 experiencing an increase of 66% in Tweets from 2013, we can expect another big jump in Melbourne Cup Tweets this year.

We’ve also analysed the most mentioned horses on the platform over the last seven days, and it’s the bookie’s favourite, ‘Fame Game’ which is the most talked about horse on Twitter, with Gai Waterhouse’s ‘The Offer’ the second most talked about.
